- Duchess Meghan's pregnancies
- That's how much she gained
- Challenges as a working mother
Duchess Meghan always made a stylish appearance during her pregnancy with Archie in 2019. Despite the physical changes that pregnancy brought, she always appeared in immaculate attire. Meghan, who was still active as a working royal at the time, made public appearances until Archie was born. She recalled this time in her podcast 'Confessions of a Female Founder'.
During pregnancy: this is how much weight Meghan gained
During her pregnancy with Archie and later with her daughter Lilibet, Meghan gained around 65 pounds. Despite this weight gain, she continued to wear her characteristic high stilettos. Claiming she never stopped wearing her "five-inch pointy-toe stilettos," Meghan confessed. She recalled a comment from a friend: "You have the most enormous bump, and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels."
She went on to say: "But all of my weight was in the front. So you’re just going, ‘How on earth am I not just tipping, you know, face planting?" Noting that she was "clinging very closely to" her husband. "It was like, ‘Please don’t let me fall!'"
Challenges as a working mother
After the birth of Archie, Meghan and Prince Harry moved to Montecito, California, in 2020 and stepped back from their royal duties. During her second pregnancy, Meghan largely stayed out of the spotlight. In another podcast episode, she spoke openly about how motherhood didn't go the way she had imagined: "I’ve always wanted to be a mom. But there were a lot of external things happening."
Meghan emphasized the importance of showing her children what the life of a working mother is like. She reflected: "I had a whole vision. And then, you fast-forward — granted, I had a lot of external things happening by the time I had both pregnancies and both babies — but it was not the way I envisioned it." She confessed: "It was not the way I envisioned it."
