Albert competed in bobsledding at five Winter Olympics from 1988 to 2002, achieving his best result of 25th in the two-man event in 1988. Charlene swam in the 4x100m medley relay for South Africa at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

The couple stepped out in Paris on July 25 as the 2024 Summer Olympics prepared to kick off. Princess Anne, 73, appeared in Paris on July 23 for the opening day of the 142nd IOC session ahead of the 2024 Summer Olympics. She posed for a group photo with other royal IOC members.

Then, on July 28, Princess Anne participated in the medal ceremony for the men's 100m breaststroke at Paris La Défense Arena. She awarded the silver medal and congratulated Adam Peaty from Great Britain.

They have supported one of the most popular athletes at the Olympics: Ni Xia Lian, a Chinese-born Luxembourgish table tennis player who has represented the country internationally since 1991. At 61, she is one of the oldest competing athletes at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

On July 26, King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia traveled to Paris to participate in Olympic events. They presided over a reception with the Spanish Olympic team at the Spanish Embassy.
