Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have reportedly scaled back Archewell Productions, signaling a leaner chapter for the company behind their Netflix output. According to Page Six, staffing has been reduced over the past 12 to 18 months, leaving only a small group tied to the Los Angeles office at Raleigh Studios. The cuts did not affect core full-time staff alone, but also production workers brought in for specific titles. The move adds another layer to ongoing scrutiny around the couple’s film and streaming plans after several high-profile projects landed under intense industry watch.

Archewell Productions Shrinks Los Angeles Team

The reported reductions appear to have hit crews connected to projects including “With Love, Meghan” and “Harry & Meghan.” “They cut staff over the last 12 to 18 months,” a source told Page Six. Even with the smaller footprint, the company has kept its Hollywood base open, with employees still seen coming and going from the building. Representatives for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not respond to requests for comment. The downsizing points to a more cautious operating model as the company adjusts its production pipeline.

Netflix Titles Face Fresh Questions

Archewell Productions launched in 2020 after the couple stepped back from senior royal duties and moved into media production. Its biggest releases have included the six-part docuseries “Harry & Meghan” and Markle’s lifestyle series “With Love, Meghan.” The latter has not been renewed for a third season, though future specials have not been ruled out. At the same time, questions have continued to build around the company’s output and its broader value within Netflix’s content lineup, especially as fewer follow-up projects have reached the screen.

Earlier Reports Added Pressure to the Deal

The latest staffing update arrives after months of reports about strain around the Sussexes’ entertainment business. In March, Variety reported that the company had struggled to produce breakout programming and that tensions had grown around its relationship with Netflix. Earlier reports also said two planned film projects were stuck in limbo, adding to doubts about how quickly the banner could expand beyond documentary and lifestyle fare. For a company launched with major attention, the current moment suggests a sharper focus on fewer productions.

UK Return Adds New Context to Hollywood Plans

The production changes follow separate cuts at Archewell Philanthropies, where three employees were let go during a cost-reduction restructuring in late 2025. That move involved the couple’s charitable arm, not their entertainment division, but together the decisions suggest broader streamlining across their operations. Harry, 42, and Markle, 45, have also been spending more time in the United Kingdom after leaving their Montecito home. During a joint outing in Nottingham, Markle said “it’s great to be back,” adding a new backdrop to questions about how their transatlantic media strategy will evolve.
