Millions of fans the world over were glued to their TV screens to watch THE royal wedding of the year last May. However, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan's wedding almost ended in disaster as Meghan's father, Thomas Markle, was unable to attend and so not able to walk the Duchess down the aisle.

Harry truly was Meghan's Prince Charming and came to her rescue however, when he asked his father Prince Charles if he could step in for Meghan's father.

In the documentary Prince Harry relives the moment he asked Prince Charles for his help, recounting, "I asked him to and I think he knew it was coming and he immediately said, ‘Yes, of course, I’ll do whatever Meghan needs and I’m here to support you'".

Prince Harry goes on to add, "for him that’s a fantastic opportunity to step up and be that support, and you know he’s our father so of course he’s gonna be there for us".

Viewers everywhere loved the poignant moment when Prince Harry said, "Thank you, Pa." when Charles and Meghan arrived at the altar at the front of St. George's Chapel. Royal fans were delighted to be able to share such a touching family moment.

In typical Harry-fashion he can't resist cracking a joke when he describes the moment though, "You’ve gotta say thank you. Just because he’s my father that doesn’t mean I can just sort of go, 'Okay, that’s all, I’ll take it from here'", going on to add, "Err, no, that is what I wanted to say but erm…and I was very grateful for him to be able to do that".

Prince Charles also took Meghan's mothers's arm as they followed the happy couple into a private room to sign the marriage register. And it is exactly these moments that make us respect Prince Charles all the more, he truly does seem to be an innately kind man!
