The appearance also stood out because Kate has rarely been seen at movie premieres in recent years. William wore a black velvet tuxedo with silver accents and a matching bow tie.
Kate Wore an Amethyst Necklace From the Royal Vault
The centerpiece of Kate’s look was the Queen Mother’s Amethyst Sautoir necklace. The necklace consists of a long string of pearls with a heart-shaped pendant made of amethyst and diamonds. The piece is more than a century old and was given to Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon as a wedding gift by Queen Alexandra in 1923.
Queen Camilla also wore the purple necklace in 2012 at the 'Skyfall' premiere. Kate’s look was complemented by the Collingwood Pearl Drop earrings, which once belonged to Princess Diana. She wore them with her hair partially pinned back, making the earrings particularly visible.

Prince William demonstrated earlier this year that his connection to Cruise goes beyond movie premieres. At the 2026 BAFTAs, he spoke about some of his favorite movies and mentioned 'Top Gun 2' among them.
“I've got to be careful because I'm a little biased to a particular person. But Top Gun 2, for instance, is one of the most incredible films I've watched in a long time,” William said, according to Marie Claire.
