Queen Máxima and Princess Alexia enjoyed a fun-filled night out at the Amsterdam Dance Event in the Dutch capital. The royal mother-daughter duo mingled with festivalgoers at the electronic music event, and their appearance was even captured in videos shared on social media.
Princess Alexia was spotted dancing enthusiastically among the crowd, while Queen Máxima took out her phone to capture the moment. Later, the two headed off to enjoy another performance. Their joint appearance was particularly special, as the 21-year-old princess usually lives in London, where she is studying civil engineering.
Princess Alexia Wanted to See Armand van Helden
The unexpected royal night out was reportedly inspired by Alexia's love for house music, particularly DJ and producer Armand van Helden.
The princess had originally hoped to attend one of his performances in London, where she is currently studying. However, those plans reportedly fell through because Queen Máxima couldn't accompany her. Instead, the mother-daughter duo decided to enjoy a night of music and dancing together in Amsterdam, making for a memorable royal outing!
DJ Tonno Disko Opens Up About His Royal Guests
DJ Tonno Disko couldn't help but notice the royal mother-daughter duo enjoying themselves. He recalled seeing them dancing, filming, and jumping around to the music. "They really are the best party guests you could ask for," the musician said, according to Het Parool.
He also revealed that he had offered Queen Máxima a drink, but she had already been served. Videos from the club showed the two royals blending effortlessly into the crowd, enjoying the music alongside fellow festivalgoers.
Armin van Buuren Was Also on the Lineup
Later that evening, Máxima and Alexia headed to a performance by renowned Dutch DJ Armin van Buuren. Interestingly, the musician already had a royal connection: In April 2013, he performed during celebrations marking King Willem-Alexander's accession to the throne.
The Amsterdam Dance Event took place from October 21 to 25, 2026, across multiple venues in and around the Dutch capital. Máxima and Alexia's night out therefore included more than just one club appearance.
Other Dutch Royals Joined the Festival Fun
Queen Máxima and Princess Alexia weren't the only members of the royal family enjoying the festivities. Princes Floris and Pieter-Christiaan of Orange-Nassau, van Vollenhoven, both cousins of King Willem-Alexander, even took to the stage as DJs.
And this wasn't Alexia's first major music festival of the year! The princess had already been spotted enjoying Tomorrowland in Boom, Belgium, back in July 2026.
