Since the Sussexes returned to the United Kingdom in late August, Meghan has not appeared at any public events. She was also absent from several events related to the Invictus Games last week. Most recently, she accompanied Harry to the WellChild Awards in 2019.

For Harry, the event has been a fixture on his calendar for years. He has been a patron of WellChild, the British charity supporting seriously ill children and their families, since 2007, and this was his 15th time attending the awards ceremony.

The organization’s website stated that the event continued his long-standing association with the charity and remained an important part of his annual program. The evening focused on celebrating the achievements and resilience of seriously ill children, young people, and their families.

At the Lancaster Hotel, Harry Met With Children and Families

At the Lancaster Hotel in London, Harry was greeted by WellChild Executive Director Matt James. The event also brought together guests from the worlds of sports, television, and music, according to The Mirror.

During the evening, the prince spoke with, among others, six-year-old Margot Jones-Billington, who survived a brain hemorrhage and a stroke as a toddler and now lives with several complex health conditions. She presented Harry with a homemade card, and he was also seen admiring her sparkly sneakers.

Harry Highlights the 20th Anniversary of the Care Program

In a message for the charity, Harry praised the program, saying, “It is always a privilege to be part of the WellChild Awards and to meet the extraordinary children, young people, families and professionals whose courage and determination inspire us all,” according to The Mirror.

He also highlighted the 20th anniversary of the program, which supports thousands of children and families and helps them spend more time at home.

Meghan Has Only Appeared on Instagram With Harry

In public, Meghan has continued to stay out of the spotlight since the family’s return. Although photos of her, Harry, and their children, Archie and Lilibet, have appeared on her Instagram account, she has not yet been seen at an official event.

Harry had already spoken about his first few days back in the UK last week at the Invictus Spirit Awards. He described the period as “eventful,” adding that the children were at school and that the family was happy, according to The Mirror.
