Sarah Ferguson is reportedly putting her equestrian talents to work on a forthcoming reality TV competition titled Dancing with Horses.

The eye-catching new show is for real — and so is the Duchess of York's involvement. Here's what the show's producer has revealed so far.

Sarah Ferguson to judge Dancing with Horses

Producer Claudia Rosencratz, who's behind Got Talent and Idol, recently spoke to Deadline about the new equine dance show, which is attached to the Fox network. The outlet described it as being billed as "Dancing with the Stars but with horses."

Rosencratz shared that a pilot was filmed prior to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the health crisis put a hold on plans beyond that. One detail that's confirmed about that pilot? Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York and ex-wife of Prince Andrew, served as a judge of the dance numbers. "She was a judge, and she was wonderful to work with," Rosencratz told Deadline.

Dancing with the Horses: Coming to U.K. TV?

Rosencratz has faith in her new program, too. She added: "It’s been eight years in my head trying to get those horses dancing. It's literally the most beautiful thing I've ever seen. It's like Dancing With The Stars but your partner is a horse and it is an absolutely, exquisite, complicated, wonderful show."

The producer noted that American Humane observed and gave full approval to the shoot.

If Dancing with the Stars—but with horses—sounds like your cup of tea, Fergie's new series will be one to keep in mind moving forward. Rosencratz added that Horses isn't yet signed with a U.K. network, though it is attached to Fox for North American viewers.

Dancing with the Stars, meanwhile, has itself made headlines in recent weeks, after ousting its popular hosts in pursuit of a new direction. Sarah Ferguson also celebrated the wedding of her eldest daughter, Princess Beatrice, earlier this month.
