• The BAFTAs took place on Sunday
  • Prince William and Duchess Kate did not attend the event

The British Academy Film Awards were held at the Royal Albert Hall in London on March 13, 2022. Prince William (39) and Duchess Kate (40) usually appear at this prestigious event. This year, however, the royal couple canceled their appearance at the annual award ceremony on short notice.

According to Town and Country, William reportedly canceled attendance: "due to diary constraints he is not able to attend in person this year." While it's unclear exactly what that means, it sounds like a scheduling conflict led to the royal couple missing out on the event.
