Prince Andrew has been photographed with a visible red mark on his cheek while driving near his home at Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate. The Duke of York, 66, was seen in a Land Rover on Thursday wearing a pink shirt and blue jacket. It is unclear how he got the bruise-like blemish. According to Hello!, the mark was not visible when he was seen in public two weeks earlier, making this latest appearance a point of fresh interest around the royal’s private life in Norfolk.

Prince Andrew Seen Near Marsh Farm in Norfolk
The outing took place close to Marsh Farm, where Andrew has been living since April after leaving Royal Lodge in Windsor earlier this year. His move marked another major change in a period of retreat from public duties and royal visibility. Once a regular figure within the monarchy, he has kept a much lower profile in recent months. Thursday’s sighting stood out because public appearances have become rare, and the facial mark was clearly noticeable as he drove through the area near the estate.
Sandringham Move Followed Royal Lodge Exit
Andrew’s relocation to Sandringham followed his departure from the 30-room Royal Lodge property in Windsor. Before settling into Marsh Farm full-time, he stayed at Wood Farm Cottage while additional security measures were put in place. Reports have said those upgrades included an electric fence and a six-foot wooden barrier around the property. The move came after a long period of scrutiny and distance from official royal life, with Andrew stepping back even further after losing his remaining titles last October.
Norfolk Police Responded After Dog-Walking Incident
Last month, Andrew was involved in a security incident while walking his dogs near the estate. Police were called after a man was reported to have behaved in an intimidating way in the village of Wolferton. A spokesperson for Norfolk Police told Hello!: "Officers were called to Wolferton shortly after 7.30pm yesterday (Wednesday 6 May 2026) following a report a man was behaving in an intimidating manner in the village." The force said the man was arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and possession of an offensive weapon.
Public Sightings Stay Rare After Security Scare
The latest photographs come as Andrew continues to live largely out of public view. During the earlier incident, he was accompanied by private security and left the area by car after the confrontation. Since then, there have been few glimpses of him, adding weight to any new appearance. This week’s images do not answer how the facial mark happened, but they do place him back in view at a time when attention around his living arrangements, security, and role within the royal family remains firmly in focus.
