'Charmed': 10 Fun Facts You Did NOT Know About The Series

Charmed was an epic fantasy drama series that ran from 1998 until 2006. For a total of 8 seasons, the "Halliwell" sisters dazzled audiences with their magical adventures, endless drama, and wonderful personalities. But that doesn't mean that fans know everything about the show and the actors involved. Here are some interesting facts about the drama maybe even some of the hardcore fans don't even know.

The special effects used as well as the stunts performed were cutting-edge at the time the show was aired. Using these filming tools was very expensive back then compared to now, and each episode ended costing roughly up to 2 million dollars to produce. "Phoebe," played by Alyssa Milano, was actually supposed to gain the ability to levitate at some point in the series, but this was taken out of the script due to budget cuts.

The only person to appear in every episode of the TV show Charmed was Holly Marie Combs. She was the oldest sister of the group after Doherty's daring exit from the show, but in reality, she was actually the youngest!

Did you know that there were numerous guest appearances during the hit series' lifespan? Stars like Kaley Cuoco, Nick Lachey, Eric Dane, Jon Hamm, Ron Perlman, James Avery, Amy Adams, Zachary Quinto, Billy Zane, and many more have all made appearances on Charmed at some point.

Shannen Doherty didn't really have much to complain about during her run on the show due to the fact that she was getting paid around $75,000 dollars an episode. Too bad she couldn't get along with the rest of the people on set.

She also left the cast of Beverly Hills, 90210 for similar reasons.

After Shannen Doherty got scandalously kicked off Charmed, producers had to quickly find a new actress to bring the trio back together. Many actresses, such as Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Brown, Tiffani Thiessen, and. others auditioned for the role. In the end, the beautiful Rose McGowan got the part! She was perfect for the trio.

Constance M. Burge, the same writer who wrote Ally McBeal, Charlie's Angels, and Dynasty, created the show Charmed. The show was produced by Aaron Spelling, who was also responsible for the hit TV show Beverly Hills 90210, which was of course also Shannen Doherty's breakthrough.

The actress who played the "Halliwell" sisters' mother "Patty," Finola Hughes, got more fanmail than any other cast member! She's not even a main character on the show!

When Holly Marie Combs became pregnant with her first son, the producers did try to hide it at first but it just didn’t really work. It was obvious that there was a baby bump. So, the writers just wrote her pregnancy into the show— funny how this real-life event ended up influencing the arc of the show!
