He is now starring in the new CBS crime drama S.W.A.T., which is based on the 1975 television series.

Andrea Joy Cook, who played "Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau," is actually a trained dancer. She started acting at seventeen and landed her first major role in the Sofia Coppola film The Virgin Suicides in 1999. In addition to his role on Criminal Minds, Gubler directed the music video for the song "Don't Shoot Me Santa" by The Killers. He also had a small part in the 2006 film RV and has voiced "Alvin" in all the animated Alvin and the Chipmunks films! Since Criminal Minds, he starred in a Future Islands music video and has a new movie called King Knight that was released in 2021.

Actor Mandy Patinkin was part of the original Criminal Minds cast. However, he left the show after three seasons. Prior to starring in Criminal Minds, he was a singer and actor on Broadway and played surgeon "Dr. Jeffrey Geiger" on Chicago Hope from 1994 to 2000.
