• The series Criminal Minds is having a revival
  • The pandemic is discussed in the new episodes
  • A few characters are unfortunately not returning

Well, finally! The popular series Criminal Minds returns! In 2020, Criminal Minds ended after 15 seasons.

Shortly after the cancellation of the crime series, however, it was announced that a revival was in the works. The project has been quiet since then, with fans and even cast members fearing the revival won't come to be.

As the streaming service Paramount+ confirms according to TVLine, the sequel is in the works. The platform is said to have ordered ten episodes for the time being – a further extension with good streaming numbers would be quite possible.

Criminal Minds revival: Which stars are returning and who are not?

The characters returning for the Criminal Minds revival have also been confirmed: "Rossi" (Joe Mantegna), "JJ" (A.J. Cook), "Garcia" (Kirsten Vangsness), "Tara Lewis" (Aisha Tyler), "Luke Alvez" (Adam Rodriguez) and "Prentiss" (Paget Brewster) return to screens.

Also Interesting:

A big blow for fans: Matthew Gray Gubler's "Spencer", a series favorite, is not returning. Just like Daniel Henney aka "Matt Simmons".

"Garcia's" return, in particular, raises questions that will certainly be answered quickly in the series. Finally, at the end of season 15, she left the BAU and dared to start over. Apparently, she's returning for the team's new case - and it packs a punch!

Paramount+ has announced that the Criminal Minds revival will see the BAU face their greatest threat yet. "An UnSub who has used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers," TVLine quotes the streaming service. The network will spring into action at the start of the season and the team will have to hunt down the killers one by one.

When we can follow this hunt in the revival of Criminal Minds is not yet known. Production is scheduled to start in the coming weeks.
