The 72nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards are set to air on September 20, 2020, with Jimmy Kimmel as host and producer. It is unclear at this moment exactly how the awards show will take place considering the current COVID-19 pandemic, however, ABC entertainment president Karey Burke told THR that there are "multiple plans for an in-person ceremony and a virtual ceremony."
