- But actor Harry Melling was almost replaced
- What's behind it?
'Harry Potter' is still an absolute classic, even many years after the first broadcast of the films.
Although some characters had to depart over time, many of them appeared in front of the camera in all eight instalments of the film series.
Almost replaced 'Harry Potter' actor Harry Melling
Now it comes out: one of them was almost replaced in 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1', the penultimate part of the series! This is reported by 'Screen Rant'.
This would be "Dudley Dursley" actor Harry Melling, who embodied the spoiled cousin of "Harry Potter".
The actor had been in front of the camera for the series since the first film. But there were considerations to replace him because of his weight! Over the years, Harry had changed a lot, lost a lot of weight and was hardly recognizable as "Dudley".
In the end, the producers decided not to replace the Brit. Instead, they tweaked his appearance. He wore a padded suit and a facial prosthesis to maintain the similarities to the previous years.
In 'Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1', Harry Melling stood in front of the camera for the final time for the series.
