That was Katherine MacGregor's cause of death
Katherine MacGregor's death still came as a shock to many fans. The Hollywood star had appeared in the popular series Little House on the Prairie from 1974 on. She took the role of "Harriet Olson," who was known for spreading gossip in Walnut Grove.
"Harriet Olson" was initially written as a supporting character. But she soon became a crowd-pleaser and ended up appearing in almost every episode of the series. She was, however, absent in the finale episode, and we recently explored why that was the case.
After her big role as "Harriet Olson," the TV star mainly took on smaller parts in theatre productions. She then led a reclusive life in California until her passing.
Little House on the Prairie is still popular with fans today. While "Harriet Olson" caused a lot of chaos by spreading rumours, viewers loved her in their own way and will always remember Katherine MacGregor fondly.
