Katherine MacGregor's cause of death has never been publicly confirmed. The Little House on the Prairie star passed away on Nov. 13, 2018, at the age of 93.

A spokesperson and attorney for the actress told the press at the time that MacGregor had passed away peacefully in her nursing home room. The actress could look back on a long, successful life.

Katherine MacGregor's death still came as a shock to many fans. The Hollywood star had appeared in the popular series Little House on the Prairie from 1974 on. She took the role of "Harriet Olson," who was known for spreading gossip in Walnut Grove.

"Harriet Olson" was initially written as a supporting character. But she soon became a crowd-pleaser and ended up appearing in almost every episode of the series. She was, however, absent in the finale episode, and we recently explored why that was the case.
