According to TV Line, Katee Sackhoff (42) actually auditioned for the role and was at the forefront of the selection process. However, she was ultimately unable to accept the role of "Abby" after getting a part in the series Battlestar Galactica.

From 2004 to 2010 she was in that series as "Kara Thrace". The actress is also known for The Mandalorian and the drama series Another Life.
