Law & Order: SVU has been renewed for its 21st season and that means the show will set a new record which was previously held by the original Law & Order and Gunsmoke. Mariska Hargitay, who has been playing the role of "Olivia 'Liv' Benson" since 1999, will also make television history with the new season.
