Many actors have come and gone from the hit show 'NCIS', "Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard" was one of the veterans of the series. He was portrayed by the late actor David McCallum (†90), who died at the end of September at the age of 90. In the last few seasons, McCallum was only seen in a few episodes of the crime series...
He will be missed on the show
For the upcoming season it was planned that "Ducky" would stop by and visit his team every now and then. Unfortunately, this could no longer be the case as David has passed on to the next life.

Due to the scriptwriters' strike in the USA, work on the new episodes was delayed, so no scenes could be completed just yet. There would still be the possibility of including unpublished scenes with "Ducky" from past episodes in the new season, but the scenes would have to fit exactly into the plot, which is unlikely...
