His story is truly worth writing a film about. Oskar Schindler was an entrepreneur and NSDAP member who came from the Sudetenland. In 1939, he took over a factory in Kraków, Poland, which initially manufactured enamel tableware and later ammunition.

The factory was previously taken away from its Jewish owners. Oskar Schindler made a fortune in a very short time, and he hired Jewish workers whom he had the German authorities send him for very little money. In 1943, Oskar Schindler saw how the Kraków ghetto was controlled by the National Socialist organization Schutzstaffel, or the "SS" in short.

From then on, he made it his mission to protect his Jewish workers, which he partly managed to do through bribery and elaborate lies.
