In every movie, there is always good and evil. Of course everybody wants good to conquer evil, but admittedly, these films wouldn't be as fun to watch without the villains that command the screen. This is exactly why we made a list of our top 13 favourite movie villains of all time!

Next up on our list is the terrible "Mr. Smith". After "Neo" takes the red pill and exits the Matrix, he becomes "Agent Smith's" number one target. His emotionless, inhuman behaviour lands him at number 12 on our list.

"Batman" alone wasn't capable to stop "Poison Ivy" in her tracks without the help of "Robin"! The crimson beauty turns Gotham City upside down with her wild schemes, and deserves the 11th place on our list.

The next villain on our list strikes fear into the hearts of both Muggles and wizards alike. The legendary "Lord Voldemort" has one goal and one goal only: to kill "Harry Potter". His ruthless dedication and creepy appearance makes "Lord Voldemort" worthy of the 10th spot on our list.

Next up on our list of evildoers is no other than "Gordon Gekko" himself. In this role, Michael Douglas definitely proved to us that not every villain has to be a violent murderer. The psychological manipulation that "Gekko" pulls off is nothing short of terrifying!

The shower scene in the cult classic Psycho is probably one of the most recognized in film history, including that infamous scream. Now we're all scared to stay at motels thanks to mama's boy "Norman Bates," who has secured the 7th spot on our list.

"Elle Driver" is a character whose whistling we just can't get out of our heads! This lovely blonde is definitely a worthy opponent for "The Bride," played by Uma Thurman. There is no one else filled with so much hate, which makes her perfect for our number 6 spot.

"Jack Torrance" is without a doubt one of the most horrifying villains acclaimed author Stephen King has brought to life. The scene where "Jack" drives an ax into the door and screams "Here's Johnny!" is an unforgettable cinematic moment. His purely evil grin has cemented itself into the heads of millions of film fans, giving him a well-deserved 5th place.

Most people love a good steak once in a while, and "Hannibal Lecter" isn't any different— except he prefers human meat. The intelligent serial killer makes the lives of law enforcement rather difficult, with Jodie Foster's "Clarice Starling" going toe-to-toe with "Hannibal". We rightfully bestow the 4th spot on our list to this twisted villain.

Moving on to our worst nightmare, "Freddy Krueger". After you've seen A Nightmare on Elm Street, you'll be trying to avoid sleep for a while. "Freddy" returns to kill children in their dreams— what's scarier than that? This is precisely why "Freddy" deserves the third spot in our list.
