The Worst Movie Remakes Ever

'The Karate Kid'

You know what they say: "if it ain't broke, don't fix it!" Karate Kid should have just been left alone! Jackie Chan played his role as "Mr. Miyagi" quite well, but it didn't even come close to Pat Morita's performance. Definitely not worth the price of admission...

'Footloose' Remake.

'Footloose'

Let's take a look at the classic Footloose! The original movie doesn't take itself too seriously with a relatively obscure, coming of age plot with the typical "teenagers vs. authority" premise. Craig Brewer, the director that worked on the remake back in 2011, is a very talented director, but we think he took Footloose way too seriously. Each scene is very over-exaggerated which kind of destroys the fun magic the movie had before...

Robocop Remake

'Robocop'

Who doesn't love Paul Verhoeven's 1987 classic? The original was a sci-fi action-packed comedy that really cemented itself as an '80s cult classic! Then came the remake in 2014... Our bad-ass Robocop became a downgraded version of "Iron-Man" with none of the whit... What a shame...

'A Nightmare On Elm Street'

We all remember the horror cult classic A Nightmare On Elm Street! An unquestionable slasher that scared children and adults throughout the '80s. Fast forward almost 30 years later, and Michael Bay was just getting off of the success from Friday The 13th and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The next logical thing was to remake the slasher classic with new, even scarier makeup and, of course, new actors. Sadly, Bay just wasn't able to capture the initial horror of its predecessor...

'Psycho' Remake.

'Psycho'

The '60s classic Psycho grossed over 59 million during the first few months of its release. Gus Van Sant had just finished with Good Will Hunting and decided it was time to pursue a personal dream of his: to recreate a movie scene by scene. Psycho was the movie he ended up with. The magic from the original was almost completely lost... Who knew recreating a movie in exactly the way it was would be a flop?

Ghostbusters cast

'Ghostbusters'

Don't get us wrong, we don't really care if the Ghostbusters cast is made up of all female or male characters. The biggest issue with the remake is that it doesn't even come close to the amount of witty humor the original possesses. It feels forced and uninspired... Let's hope directors can learn from this mistake...

'Carrie'

Brian De Palma's Carrie was one of the few horror films that was nominated for multiple academy awards! The movie was remade back in 2013 with Julianne Moore and Chloë Grace Moretz. Although the two delivered quite the convincing performance, they still weren't able to deliver the same touch the original was able to do... By now you can tell that horror movies aren't the easiest to remake.

'The Wicker Man'

Do you guys know those films that are so bad that you just have to watch them multiple times? The Wicker Man remake, featuring Nicolas Cage, is still an endless source of internet humor even today! The cult following this terrible masterpiece has is quite astounding, to be honest...

Jason Momoa from 'Conan The Barbarian'.

'Conan The Barbarian'

We loved Jason Momoa in Game of Thrones, but we just couldn't get behind his role in Conan The Barbarian. The movie managed to take up your time, but Momoa's portrayal of "Conan" just wasn't convincing at all, despite his absurd good looks. The movie was just a huge box office flop...

Sylvester Stallone in 'Get Carter'.

'Get Carter'

This movie did a lot of things to upset die-hard fans. First of all, they switched out Michael Caine back 1971 in Newcastle with Sylvester Stallone back in 2000 in Seattle. What's the point? Don't get us wrong. Sylvester Stallone is a great action hero and deserves our respect, but he just doesn't fit the role at all! Michael Caine even shows up as a cameo during the movie... What a disappointment...

Let's face it... There are some amazing movies out there, that most certainly do not need remakes. Sadly, that´s not how Hollywood works! Hollywood is pumping out reboot after reboot and failing again and again...

The Worst Movie Remakes Ever

What we might see as a long-standing piece of art, might be seen as a way to make some quite cash by others... Here are some of the remakes we unanimously find pretty awful...
