- 'Barbie' is the biggest movie of the year
- It has premiered in the Middle East
- THIS is why Kuwait has banned it
After Kuwait's announcement, other countries like Lebanon are aiming to do the same thing. The blockbuster film opened across the Middle East on Aug. 10. But a day before, on Aug. 9, Kuwait announced that the movie would be banned, as NBC News reported. Officials there have said that 'Barbie' promotes "ideas and beliefs that are alien to the Kuwaiti society and public order," according to state news agency KUNA.

And others might follow suit. Lebanese Culture Minister Mohammad Mortada would also like to see the film banned, saying it was found to "contradict values of faith and morality" and "promote homosexuality and sexual transformation," as NBC News also reports.
