King Willem-Alexander traditionally celebrates his birthday not in private, but together with the entire nation. This year, King’s Day brought the Dutch royal family to Dokkum in the province of Fryslân, where a vibrant program of music, sports, art, and meetings with locals awaited them.

Even before their arrival, the family shared a joint photo showcasing their festive outfits. Queen Máxima and her daughters—Princesses Amalia, Alexia, and Ariane—appeared in a beautifully coordinated color palette, creating a striking visual harmony.

Queen Máxima Shines in Yellow

Queen Máxima stepped out in an ochre-yellow midi dress featuring a bow collar and a cinched waist. She paired the look with matching pumps and a statement straw hat with an extra-wide brim. The outfit was designed by fashion house Natan, a longtime favorite of the Queen.

Beside her, King Willem-Alexander opted for a more classic look, wearing a gray-blue suit complemented by a tie and pocket square.

Princess Amalia Stands Out

Crown Princess Amalia was a standout at the event. She chose a red satin-finish trouser suit by Max Mara, combining elegance with a modern edge. Coordinated shoes completed the look.

A particularly eye-catching detail was her golden-yellow clutch, which subtly echoed the tone of Máxima’s dress and tied the family’s outfits together. The result was festive yet refined. While Amalia opted for a light blue mini dress last year, this year’s ensemble felt notably more sophisticated—perfectly reflecting her growing role as crown princess.

Princess Alexia Adds a Casual Edge in Red

Princess Alexia stayed within the same color palette as her older sister, also opting for red. Her look, however, leaned more casual: she paired a red dress with a brown leather jacket and matching brown heeled boots. Gold earrings echoed the family’s accessories, subtly tying her outfit to Amalia’s clutch and Máxima’s dress.

Princess Ariane Balances the Look in White

As the youngest, Princess Ariane chose a softer direction, stepping out in a white lace two-piece. The romantic ensemble offered a gentle contrast to the bold reds and yellows worn by her mother and sisters, yet blended harmoniously into the overall look thanks to its light tones and natural textures.
