King Charles and Queen Camilla will embark on a multi-day Caribbean tour in fall 2026. Buckingham Palace has confirmed that the couple will first visit Antigua and Barbuda before attending the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting, according to reports including Hello!.
The tour is scheduled for October 27 through November 4 and will highlight communities, cultures, and nature across the Commonwealth. What makes the announcement particularly noteworthy, however, is its timing: attention is also turning to Prince Harry and his family.
King Charles Will Also Visit the Bahamas and Guyana
Before the Commonwealth meeting, Charles will visit the Bahamas, where he is also head of state. He will then travel to Guyana for a state visit at the invitation of the country’s president, made at the request of the British government.
The visit will coincide with the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the UK and Guyana. Charles previously visited Guyana in 2000 and the Bahamas in 1973. For Camilla, the trip to Antigua and Barbuda will mark her first official visit there.
Antigua and Barbuda Takes Center Stage
The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting will take place in St. John’s in early November, bringing together representatives from all 56 member states. Alongside political discussions, the event will include participants from business, civil society, and youth organizations.
Charles also has a longstanding connection to Antigua and Barbuda. As Prince of Wales, he visited the island in 2017 after Hurricanes Irma and Maria caused widespread damage. His upcoming visit therefore builds on both diplomatic ties and previous engagements with the country.
Prince Harry Returns to the UK With Meghan and the Children
At almost the same time as the palace announced the tour, Prince Harry arrived in the United Kingdom with Duchess Meghan, Prince Archie, and Princess Lilibet. The family landed in Birmingham on Wednesday on a private plane, shortly before the new school year began.
Archie is expected to enter fifth grade next year, while Lilibet will begin first grade. For security reasons, the children’s school locations will not be made public. A spokesperson for the couple declined to comment on their arrival, citing the family’s privacy and safety.
Harry’s Return Adds Another Layer to the Royal Story
For many royal watchers, the family’s return to the UK is surprising, given that Harry moved to the United States with Meghan several years ago. Just 15 months ago, he said: “I can’t see a world in which I would bring my wife and children back to the UK at this point."
Charles is reportedly looking forward to spending private time with Harry and his family. According to Hello!, the king had known about the plans since mid-August, while Prince William and Princess Kate were also informed in advance.
