The Princess of Wales had close family support during the final stretch of her Three Peaks challenge. New social media footage shows Kate descending Yr Wyddfa, also called Mount Snowdon, with help from her younger brother James Middleton. The royal, 44, is seen holding his hand as they make their way down a rocky path after reaching the summit. She wore red North Face shorts, a cap and a rucksack for the demanding trek, which formed part of a 24-hour effort to raise money for the Royal Marsden.
James Middleton Helps Kate Down Snowdon
According to Hello!, the footage was captured by entrepreneur Phillip Tebajjwa, who crossed paths with the Princess during his own climb. He later shared clips and a selfie from the summit on social media. "There I was, congratulating fellow climbers as they made their way down from the windy summit… little did I know I was actually speaking to royalty," Phillip Tebajjwa wrote. The images add a fresh detail to the occasion, showing that although Kate completed the challenge solo, James joined her for the descent back toward the base.
Prince William and Children Waited at the Base
Kate was not alone in marking the end of the challenge. At the foot of the mountain, Prince William and the couple’s three children — Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis — were there to greet her. Her parents, Carole and Michael Middleton, were also present, turning the finish into a family moment after a physically punishing test. The climb followed earlier ascents of Ben Nevis in Scotland and Scafell Pike in England, completing three major peaks within 24 hours for a cause closely tied to her recent health journey.
Royal Marsden Fundraiser Followed Cancer Remission
The expedition carried personal meaning for the Princess of Wales. The fundraiser supported the Royal Marsden, where she received cancer treatment. She announced at the start of 2025 that she was in remission, giving added weight to the challenge and the public response around it. The mountain effort combined endurance with purpose, and the newly shared footage underlines how family support remained part of the story from summit to finish. James’s presence on the descent offered a quiet picture of that bond in action.
James Middleton Shared a Promise to His Sister
James has spoken before about standing beside his sister through difficult periods. After Kate announced in 2024 that she would undergo chemotherapy, he posted a childhood hiking photo and wrote: "Over the years, we have climbed many mountains together. As a family, we will climb this one with you too." As reported by Hello!, he also left mountain and heart emojis under a photo of Kate at the top of Ben Nevis after the challenge. The latest video now gives that earlier message a clear, visible echo on the mountainside.
