Prince William and Princess Kate turned the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow into a memorable family outing. Joined by Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, the royal family of five took their seats in the stands on Saturday to watch the netball semifinals.

The photos captured a relaxed and engaged family following the action on the court. Because the Waleses rarely appear together in public, the outing felt especially meaningful. More than just a sporting event, it offered a rare glimpse into their close family bond.

Princess Charlotte Watches Closely While Prince Louis Steals the Show

Throughout the match, Princess Charlotte appeared especially interested. According to Page Six, she repeatedly turned to her mother and pointed toward the court. George, who had recently celebrated his birthday, leaned forward intently—looking more and more like his father.

Meanwhile, Prince Louis, seated between his siblings, once again stole the spotlight with his adorable reactions. At times he rested his head in his hands, only to spring back to life during exciting moments of the game. The youngest of the Wales children has become known for his expressive reactions at public events—and once again delighted royal fans.

William and Kate Meet Athletes in Scotland

The royal visit extended well beyond the stands. As the Duke and Duchess of Rothesay—the titles William and Kate use in Scotland—they also met with athletes, staff, and volunteers at Glasgow's OVO Hydro Arena on the banks of the River Clyde. The family later visited the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome, where they chatted with British cycling legend Dame Laura Kenny and watched the action from just one row behind Olympic champion Sir Chris Hoy. They also met para-powerlifter Mark Swan and gymnast Reuben Ward, according to the BBC.

Recent Family Photos Followed a Major Challenge

While the Wales family has appeared together several times this summer, such moments remain relatively rare. Earlier in July, William, Kate, and their children were photographed after Kate completed the National Three Peaks Challenge in support of the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Shared on Instagram, the images showed the family in hiking gear after conquering the highest mountains in England, Wales, and Scotland. One especially touching photo captured Kate embracing Charlotte while Louis playfully tugged at her arm before taking her hand.

Recent Appearances at Wimbledon and Trooping the Colour

The family also appeared together at Trooping the Colour in June, wearing coordinated outfits with blue accents. At the Wimbledon men's final last month, however, William and Kate were joined only by George and Charlotte, with Prince Louis sitting out the event.
