According to TMZ, after his performance on Saturday night, the singer went to the hospital on his own to undergo tests. The report describes the visit as a precautionary measure. Doctors are reportedly examining whether mild dehydration could be responsible for his symptoms. Richie is said to be hoping to be discharged on Tuesday.

The concert took place at The Muny in Forest Park, where Richie performed for an audience over the weekend. According to U.S. media reports, he sought medical attention shortly after the show. Notably, it was reportedly not an emergency transport; instead, Richie made the decision to go to the hospital himself.
Witnesses Describe a Difficult Moment During the Final Song
During the concert, attendees reportedly noticed that Richie did not seem quite himself toward the end of the performance. According to TMZ, he asked his team to bring him a chair for the final song, “All Night Long,” allowing him to perform the song while seated.
A Similar Incident Occurred Back in June
This is not the first time this year that Richie’s health has become a topic of discussion during a performance. In June, he had to cut a concert short in St. Paul, Minnesota, after feeling unwell on stage.
At the time, Richie reportedly told the audience, “If you feel dizzy, sit down,” according to People. He then continued playing the piano before the show was eventually interrupted. Shortly afterward, two additional concerts were postponed while he recovered.
Richie Returned to the Stage in High Spirits
Following the June incident, Richie returned to the stage just a few days later and sought to reassure his fans. In an Instagram post at the time, he wrote, “Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. I'm doing well, and I'm grateful for all of you.”
