Meghan Markle has been photographed for the first time since returning to the UK nearly a month ago, offering a new glimpse of the Duchess of Sussex during a low-key stay in the country. The 45-year-old was seen at the Three Horseshoes pub in Burford, Oxfordshire, where she spent time with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi in images obtained by Page Six. The outing landed on the same day Prince Harry attended the WellChild Awards in London, where he appeared solo after last-minute confirmation that Meghan would not join him, according to Hello Magazine.
Meghan Markle Meets Ellen DeGeneres in Burford
For the pub visit, Meghan kept her look relaxed, wearing sunglasses, a loose shirt and white jeans while carrying a coat into the garden area. She was later seen chatting with Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi before leaving the pair. The friendship is long-standing. Meghan and Ellen were once neighbors in the US, and the duchess also attended Ellen and Portia’s 2023 vow renewal. Their connection has included smaller personal moments too, including Meghan taking in Ellen’s chicken, Sinkie, after the bird suffered a broken leg.
Meghan Markle Keeps a Low Profile in the UK
Since arriving at Birmingham Airport on 26 August, Meghan has largely stayed out of public view. Even so, a few details from her UK routine have surfaced through social media and reported sightings. She has shared snippets of family life that included muddy walks, puddle splashing and evenings by the fire. A birthday post for Prince Harry also drew attention, showing Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet riding a quad bike with the family’s black Labrador, Pula, nearby. The image also appeared to place the family firmly in Britain, with a visible Marks & Spencer shopping bag in the frame.
Prince Harry Shares Archie and Lilibet School Mood
While Meghan was seen in Oxfordshire, Prince Harry was in London for the WellChild Awards, where he spoke about parenting Archie and Lilibet. "At breakfast this morning, they had a bit of Monday morning blues," Harry told Hello Magazine. He explained that he spoke to the children about his plans for the evening, and that they quickly became curious and full of questions. Harry said he and Meghan want to build that awareness in their children through the work they both do, linking family life with the causes that matter to them.

Harry also reflected on how fatherhood has shifted his perspective during his years with WellChild, a charity he has supported since 2007. "Once you become a parent, it does change everything," said Harry according to Hello Magazine. He added that becoming a parent deepens gratitude, especially when meeting seriously ill children and their families. The prince also offered a lighter update from home. Archie and Lilibet have been trying British food since the family’s return, and while beans on toast did not win them over, Marmite on crumpets was a hit.
