Nicole Scherzinger (48) went through with her performance in Düsseldorf despite a painful injury. According to the singer, she scalded her leg with boiling water about an hour before the Pussycat Dolls concert. Nevertheless, she did not cancel the show at the PSD Bank Dome on Saturday evening.
Nicole Scherzinger Didn’t Show Her Injury Until After the Show
Shortly afterward, Scherzinger went public with the incident and showed her injured leg in an Instagram Story. The photo clearly showed redness and several blisters, although she did not explain exactly how the accident happened. One day after the concert, the 48-year-old shared a photo of the burn with her followers.
She wrote: “Nothing like boiling water falling on your leg an hour before your set, but the show must go on,” according to t-online. It remained unclear whether she received medical treatment before the performance. Despite the visible blisters, Scherzinger took the stage a short time later, performing as usual in her stage outfit and completing the evening’s set with the group.
Düsseldorf Was Just One Stop on the Ongoing European Tour
After the concert, Scherzinger addressed the audience in Düsseldorf. She thanked her fans for carrying her through the show and announced that the next stop would be Amsterdam. The tour will then continue with additional dates in Birmingham, Nottingham, Leeds, and Liverpool.
The group is currently on the road with the PCD Forever Tour. The concert series marks the Pussycat Dolls’ latest comeback. In the 2000s, the group enjoyed worldwide success with hits such as “Don’t Cha,” “Buttons,” and “Stickwitu.”
Only Three Former Members Are Currently Performing Together
Of the original lineup, Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts (45), and Kimberly Wyatt (44) are part of the current tour. Jessica Sutta (44), Carmit Bachar (52), and Melody Thornton (41) are not performing with the group this time. The Pussycat Dolls split in 2009 and have now returned to the road with a reduced lineup.
Shortly before the incident in Düsseldorf, Scherzinger also performed at Heidi Klum’s (53) “HeidiFest.” The performance in North Rhine-Westphalia was therefore part of a busy schedule for the singer and her bandmates.
The Tour’s North American Dates Had Previously Been Canceled
Even before the European concerts began, the tour suffered a setback. Most of the planned North American dates were canceled in May due to slow ticket sales, according to Web. The PCD Forever Tour nevertheless began in June and continued with its European dates.
For the Düsseldorf concert, Scherzinger went ahead with the performance despite suffering a fresh burn just an hour beforehand. While the exact circumstances of the accident remained unclear, she made it through the show and continued on to the next stop: Amsterdam.
