90 Day Fiancé's Chantel and Pedro

Yes! They are still married! But their life is still quite a roller coaster. The two met while Chantel was on vacation in the Dominican Republic and they hit it off immediately. She repeatedly returned to visit him and their passionate romance blossomed...until their family got involved. Once their respective families got wind of their potential marriage all hell broke loose.

On 90 Day Fiancé we got to see how the families were (and still are) very critical of each other and flinging accusations and fists at each other. Chantel's family believed Pedro's family just wanted Chantel for a green card and were concerned about all the money Pedro sent home while Pedro and Chantel were just barely making it. Pedro's family openly believed Chantel was not good enough for Pedro and even tried to set him up with other women they knew he was interested in.

Countless physical fights broke out between the mothers, brothers, sisters, and the whole gang from each family. Their family drama was so compelling TLC even gave them a spin-off show The Family Chantel! On the show, the two always seemed right on the brink of separating with the familial issues and jealousy issues overshadowing the marital bliss.

90 Day Fiancé: Chantel and Pedro Today

Entertainment Tonight's Lauren Zima interviewed the couple over video chat about how their relationship is doing during the quarantine. Chantel and Pedro are still married and on lockdown together, much to Chantel's frustration. She is currently in school and has been forced to continue her studies online so their tight confinement together causes a bit of tension, understandably.

Chantel and Pedro have actually been invited to join the 90 Day Fiancé Spin-off Self Quarantined and have been filming themselves for their upcoming episodes! The two opened up to Lauren that they have actually been working on their trust issues and have been doing a lot better in their relationship, even with the pressures of lock-down.

When pressed if they planned to have children they staunchly agreed they were not ready and wouldn't bring a child into the world until their families are less intrusive in their marriage and are more understanding with each other, which unfortunately doesn't look like it will happen anytime soon.

"For our family to be in a better place, we need to have conversations with one another, come to agreements, you know, mend fences in a way. There needs to be some apologies and I feel like we can't be civil with one another. We are not civil with one another, honestly. And I'm just waiting for that day when we can have just some common ground," the 90DF alumni firmly said.

Fingers crossed for the cute couple!
