Adam was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1966 to Judith and Stanley Sandler. His family moved to New Hampshire when he was six years old. It was there where he graduated from Manchester Central High School and later on from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 1988. From there on, he began receiving smaller roles in TV shows like The Cosby Show and Saturday Night Live as well as movies like Coneheads and Airheads.

In 2007, Adam starred in I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry alongside his longtime friend Kevin James. The movie received very mixed reviews. Shortly afterwards, he released You Don't Mess with the Zohan, which was also received rather poorly amongst critics. We thought is was pretty hilarious, to be honest.... Comedy will always be subjective!

One of his most recent roles was in Murder Mystery alongside Jennifer Aniston which was released in 2019. As well he starred in Uncut Gems (2019) and Hubie Halloween (2020).
