Jeopardy! host Alex Trebek has had some trouble of his own in the past few months, after being diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer in 2019. But even during his health problems, the 79-year-old TV legend still thinks about those in need in the greater Los Angeles area.

As TMZ reports, Trebek has donated $100,000 to Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization aiming to combat hunger as well as homelessness in Los Angeles.

Alex Trebek: "I hope this helps a little bit."

Trebek took a tour of the mission's new North Hollywood shelter recently and then talked to Hope of the Valley's CEO Ken Craft at length about the shelter's financial plans. It was during that conversation that Trebek revealed his gift to the mission.

According to TMZ, Alex Trebek later slipped Craft an envelope with the check in it and said: "I hope this helps a little bit." TMZ also reported that a wing of the shelter will be named after Trebek.

To recap: Alex Trebek, you are a class act!
