Angelina Jolie is the spitting image of her mother, Marcheline Bertrand (†56). The celebrity mother, who died in 2007, was an actress like her child. Jolie has probably inherited that talent from Bertrand as well as her father Jon Voight, also a famous actor. Angelina was in front of the camera with her parents for the first time in 1982 for the film Lookin' to Get Out.

Lookalikes: Angelina Jolie and her mother Marcheline Bertrand

Angelina Jolie always got on well with her mother, though she has a more complicated relationship with her father, Jon Voight. After her parents divorced, Angelina and her brother James grew up with their mother. But the Oscar winner got more than acting skills from her mother: Social awareness and humanitarianism have always been important to both women.

After Marcheline Bertrand's death in 2007

When Bertrand died of ovarian cancer in 2007 at age 56, Jolie fell into deep grief. To prevent her own children from enduring such suffering, she underwent a preventative double mastectomy in 2013. In memory of her mother, Angelina also gave her daughter Vivienne, who is becoming increasingly similar to her mother, the middle name "Marcheline."

In 2017, Jolie spoke about her mother in a rare interview. She described her a "natural" woman who "never spoiled herself, never wore makeup, and wore modest jewelry." She also penned a tribute in memory of Bertrand on Mother's Day 2020, reflecting on the devastation she experienced at the loss of her mother.
