Charlize Theron has shared that she hasn't been in a romantic relationship for some time now! As People mentions, the actress recently appeared on The Drew Barrymore Show, where she opened up about why she's happy being unattached.

Theron says she expects dates to "come with a lot of game"

Theron told Barrymore that her dating history hasn't exactly been recent! "I haven’t dated anybody for over five years," she revealed. "I’m open when friends of mine are like, 'You should go on a date, you should meet this guy.'" However, the actress has high expectations for potential dates.

Theron said she feels "like I’m in a place in my life where you have to come with a lot of game" if you're interested in dating her! "Not the kind of game that we think of," she clarified, "the kind of game where my life is really good so you better be able to bring that and maybe better because I just won’t accept anything less."

Theron talks living life as a single mom: "I don't feel lonely"

Theron said that even though she's not seeing anyone, she doesn't consider seeking out romance a priority! "I can honestly say this, on my life, I don’t feel lonely," she explained. "Once I had my children, it’s not that it replaces something, or that it makes you less interested in something else. I’m still firing on all cylinders."

And since Theron has two daughters— 8-year-old Jackson and 4-year-old August— she's placing focus on motherhood as well as her career. "I just think your priorities are in a place that is of high demand; it’s a lot of work to be a parent," the Old Guard actress continued. "Part of that is at the end of the day I get to bed and I think, 'Oh my God, I wouldn’t want this day to be any different.'"

In July, Theron opened up about how her role as immortal warrior "Andy" in her recent Netflix film The Old Guard has taught her to "appreciate every second". She's also been outspoken about the importance of Black representation in media, having expressed that she wants her daughters— both of whom are adopted— to be able to "see themselves" and "feel they belong". Theron is certainly an empowering woman both on-screen and off, and it's great to hear she's happy living the single life!
