Cobie Smulders was born on April 3, 1982 in the Canadian city of Vancouver, British Columbia. Her real name is Jacoba Francisca Maria Smulders, so it's no wonder she goes by Cobie! She originally thought of becoming a marine biologist but decided to pursue acting as a teenager.
Her first major acting credit came in 2003, starring as "Juliet Droil" in the action series Veritas: The Quest. From 2005 to 2014, she had one of her most famous roles as "Robin Scherbatsky" in the sitcom How I Met Your Mother. Smulders is also known for playing "Agent Maria Hill" in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
