Judd's daughters "navigating profound grief"
Judd was famous for being part of the iconic music duo The Judds along with her eldest daughter Wynonna. On Saturday, Ashley took to Instagram to share the devastating news. "Today we sisters experienced a tragedy," she wrote, revealing that they "lost our beautiful mother to the disease of mental illness." While they did not expand on further details, they said they are "shattered" by her loss.
"We are navigating profound grief," their statement continued, mentioning how the loss of their mother has left them "in unknown territory." Many stars extended their condolences to Ashley and Wynonna in the comments, including singer Brandi Carlisle. "So sorry Ashley the carliles adore the Judds," she wrote. "We’re praying for y’all."
Salma Hayek, Reese Witherspoon, Shailene Woodley, and Debra Messing are even more celebs who reached out to Ashley after she shared the devastating news. Naomi's final public appearance was at this year's Country Music Awards back in March, where she and Wynonna took the stage to perform as The Judds alongside Kacey Musgraves.
