Black Lives Matter Movement Helps Expose Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller

Much like the Me Too Movement, the Black Lives Matter movement is exposing many famous faces for their behaviors towards people of color, and Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller is one of them. It started when Abby posted a black square on Instagram in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter Movement for Blackout Tuesday and in response, former Dance Moms cast member Adriana Smith called her out.

Adriana spoke about how Abby treated her and her daughter terribly to the point where both quit the show and her dance studio in tears because of her horrendous comments like "I know you grew up in the HOOD with only a box of 8 crayons, but I grew up in the Country Club with a box of 64 - don't be stupid," Smith wrote on Instagram.

Adriana's daughter Kamryn was also told the only reason she was allowed to dance for Abby's studio was that they needed "a sprinkle of color." Former cast members came forward and confirmed the allegations of mistreatment and misrepresentation. In response, Abby posted an apology to Instagram saying "While I cannot change the past or remove the harm I have done, I promise to educate myself, learn, grow and do better."

Now Lifetime has stopped production of Abby's latest project Abby's Virtual Dance Off due to her behavior. Let's hope this will be a lesson for fans of the hit show everywhere.
