James Bond: Daniel Craig has mixed feelings on his role

Craig had earlier made headlines after Spectre when he stated that he'd "rather slash his wrists" than portray "007" again. Yet he returned for No Time To Die, which will premiere in November 2020.

GQ asked the outspoken actor about these comments. He clarified where he was coming from at the time, referencing the extreme physical commitment required for the role.

"I was never going to do one again. I was like, 'Is this work really genuinely worth this, this whole thing?' And I didn’t feel — I physically felt really low. So the prospect of doing another movie was just like, it was way off the cards. And that’s why it has been five years."
