According to People, the court filing was submitted on May 20 and cites terms from the former couple’s 2018 divorce agreement. Their 18-year-old twins are set to graduate in May and June this year, making the timing central to the request. The petition does more than address the monthly amount. It also asks for a change to an additional payment tied to Quaid’s annual income. Under the divorce terms, he must pay Buffington extra if his yearly income exceeds $1,314,000. In the new filing, he requested that any bonus amount for 2026 be prorated based on each child’s graduation date rather than calculated from his full-year income. That detail could affect the final total significantly if the court agrees with the adjustment request.
