• Derek Hough has given an update on his wife
  • She is still in a precarious condition after brain surgery
  • THIS is what Derek is asking of fans

In a stunning revelation that has fans on the edge of their seats, 'Dancing with the Stars' sensation Derek Hough has shared a heart-wrenching update: his beloved wife, Hayley Erbert, is undergoing a harrowing surgical procedure to replace a significant part of her skull!

This surgery is no joke!

Early Wednesday, Hough turned to Instagram, his voice laced with concern and hope, "I strongly believe all the prayers that have been sent with the intention and love of Hayley’s recovery has helped so much. I can’t thank you all enough."

Last week, Hough revealed his wife would require skull implant surgery as part of her treatment. The dance world held its breath as the star pleaded, "Please keep her in your prayers."

The drama unfolded after Erbert's emergency craniectomy earlier this month, a surgery that left fans gasping. Hough, with the poise of a true champion, revealed the next steps: "It will restore the skull to its natural shape and protect the brain from injury."

The words echoed through the corridors of social media like a siren's call.

The couple, who tied the knot in a fairytale California wedding just last August, were seen walking hand-in-hand in Washington, D.C., a testament to Erbert's miraculous recovery journey.

But Hough confessed, "Hayley is doing well," yet "still has a ways to go."

On Dec. 7, Hough revealed that Erbert became "disoriented" after performing and needed to be hospitalized. She was then diagnosed with a cranial hematoma from a burst blood vessel and required an emergency craniectomy.

This "life-threatening event" has been a stark reminder of life's fragility, but it has also showcased the couple's unbreakable spirit and the overwhelming support of their community.

"Hayley has always inspired me with her will, her strength, and her resilience and no more so than in the last 48 hrs," Hough wrote in part on Instagram. "She is now on the long road of recovery. Words cannot express how grateful and thankful we are for the support and love that you have given us."

"We cannot express enough gratitude," Hough shared, his gratitude palpable through the screen.

As the holiday season approaches, Hough and Erbert are embracing life with newfound appreciation. "We look forward to cherishing these moments with a deeper appreciation for life and the people in it," Hough's message of hope resonates with all who hear it.

Erbert's ordeal began with symptoms of cranial hematoma following their Symphony of Dance tour stop. The diagnosis: a burst blood vessel requiring immediate surgery. Since then, Hough has been a beacon of strength, updating the world and expressing thanks for the unwavering support.

As Erbert's recovery continues, the dance community and fans worldwide send their love and prayers. Stay with us for more updates on this incredible journey of resilience and the power of love!
