10 Things I Hate About You director Gil Junger is opening up about the flame between stars Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt!
Did Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt Date During 10 Things I Hate About You?
Many will remember "Cameron" (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) tries to get "Patrick" (Heath Ledger) to date "Kat" (Julia Stiles) so her younger sister can date too. While the relationship and chemistry between "Patrick" and "Kat" were perfect and iconic, the director of 10 Things I Hate About You is telling a different story.
Gil Junger opened up to Mirá a Quién Encontré (Look Who I Found) and explained the although Julia Stiles and Joseph Gordon-Levitt did not have many scenes together, the two had "dated for a minute, or ten." He explained, "They were very, very attracted to each other, which was cute. She's professing her love to Heath (on-screen) and she's in love with a guy waiting in his trailer to shoot the next scene."

"Watching them, it was beautiful how much they enjoyed each other." Gil recalled the powerful moment where Julia's heartbroken character reads a poem out loud "killed" him. He said, "It was so raw, and it was so honest and so vulnerable." Gil couldn't help but ask her who she was thinking about when performing the scene.
The couple have been married since 2014...
"She told me, 'I was just thinking about that person's name that she was deeply in love with at the time. It wasn't me, certainly, but it wasn't Heath either. That was one of the magical performances that I've recorded in my lifetime."
While their romance did not blossom the pair are still good friends. Julia married her husband Preston Cook and Joseph married scientist Tasha McCauley. Joesph even shared a fun photo of himself with the late Heath Ledger, Julia, and Larisa Oleynik jumping in the air during filming in honor of the 22nd anniversary of the hit film.
