Elisabeth Shue's Rise To Fame

Elisabeth Shue was born on October 6th, 1963 in Wilmington, Delaware. She has always been a hard-working woman, studying at Harvard University until she left to pursue her acting career with only one semester left to go (she later returned to finish her degree in the 2000s). 

Elisabeth started off in small commercials before landing her starring role as Ralph Macchio's romantic interest "Ali Mills" in the 1984 film The Karate Kid. She had a few smaller roles before she starred in the cult classic film Adventures in Babysitting as the endlessly committed babysitter thrown into the nitty-gritty world of the city. She went on to star alongside Tom Cruise in Cocktail took over the role of "Jennifer Parker" in Back to the Future Part II and Back to the Future Part III

Although Elisabeth had been shoe-horned into the role of sweet "girl-next-door", she blew audiences away with her performance as a Las Vegas sex worker in Leaving Las Vegas with Nicolas Cage. For this role, she was nominated for Best Actress at The Academy Awards, BAFTA's, and SAG's and won the Independent Spirit Award for Best Actress. Her ability to not only take on diverse roles but also hold her own in comedy roles alongside greats like Robin Williams and Billy Crystal earned her the respect of audiences everywhere. 

In the '90s, Elisabeth starred in Hollow Man with Kevin Bacon, Molly with Aaron Eckhart, and Deconstructing Harry. By the 2000s, her career declined a bit and she was featured in a few shows like Curb Your Enthusiasm and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and in smaller films like Piranha 3D and House at the End of the Street

Elisabeth Shue Now

Recently her career has kickstarted again with her supporting role in the award-winning film Battle of the Sexes and now in the smash-hit series The Boys as "Madelyn Stillwell".

She even stars opposite Tom Hanks in the war film Greyhound. Elisabeth married critically acclaimed director Davis Guggenheim in 1994 and the pair have been happily raising their three children Miles, Stella, and Agnes. Davis is known for his films like An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for "Superman", and shows like NYPD Blue, ER, The Sheild, and Deadwood

Coy Elisabeth teased her return to The Karate Kid universe for the Cobra Kai series and returned is what she did! She is already slated to perform in a few more projects and we can't wait to see what she does next!
