A tragic accident took place in Nashville over the weekend in which country singer Conner Smith was involved in a fatal collision. The accident occurred on the last day of CMA Fest, a four-day festival that celebrates country music and attracts large crowds.

Conner Smith, who was born and raised in Nashville, was driving a Chevrolet Silverado pickup when he struck a 77-year-old woman at a crosswalk. According to 'People', which obtained a report from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the accident occurred on Sunday, June 8.
The woman, who lived near the scene of the accident, was immediately taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she later died.
