Hollywood's streets turned into a scene straight out of an action movie on New Year's Eve, as "Beverly Hills, 90210" heartthrob Ian Ziering found himself and his daughter, Mia, in the thick of a terrifying confrontation with a gang of mini-bike riders. It turns out there is a whole lot more to this than the original video showed.
A father's fury!
In a gripping Instagram video, Ziering broke his silence, recounting the chilling tale of how a traffic jam turned into a nightmare. Set to the uplifting tune of Coldplay's "A Sky Full of Stars," the actor presented a brave face over a smiling snapshot with his daughter, but the caption told a darker story.
The drama unfolded on the iconic Hollywood Blvd, as captured by TMZ. Ziering's vehicle was swarmed by the unruly bikers, leading to a scuffle that saw the 'Sharknado' actor trying to flee across the busy street, chased and attacked by the gang.
“I experienced an alarming incident involving a group of individuals on mini bikes. While stuck in traffic, my car was approached aggressively by one of these riders leading to an unsettling confrontation. In an attempt to assess any damage I exited my car. This action, unfortunately, escalated into a physical altercation, which I navigated to protect myself,” Zierling wrote in a statement shared on Instagram on Monday night.
A video obtained and published by TMZ appears to show Ziering near a parked car in a confrontation and physical altercation with a group of individuals who were riding small motor bikes on Hollywood Boulevard.
Ziering didn't just share his ordeal; he issued a rallying cry for safer streets and stronger law enforcement against such "hooliganism." "As a citizen and a parent, I find it unacceptable," he declared, urging decisive action from city officials.
It’s unclear what happened prior to the video.
A spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department told CNN they are investigating a report of battery which lists Ziering as the victim in an incident involving minibikes.
"I am relieved to report that my daughter and I are both completely unscathed, but the incident has left me deeply concerned about the growing boldness of such groups who disrupt public safety and peace," Ziering’s post continued. "It’s in challenging moments like these that the strength and unity of our community are most vital."
