  • The trial is exposing troubling details
  • Johnny Depp sent many shocking texts

The Johnny Depp and Amber Heard trial is now several weeks in. Depp is suing his ex-wife for defamation over her claims of being a domestic abuse survivor, and she's also countersuing him.

Obviously, the situation between Depp and Heard is messy. For that reason, we're going to focus just on Johnny Depp texts and emails unearthed in the trial. Fair warning — they're quite explicit and some may find them triggering.

Amber Heard trial: 3 shocking Johnny Depp messages

The first is a text message Johnny Depp exchanged with his friend, actor Paul Bettany, in which they referenced killing Amber Heard and her being a witch.

"Lets burn Amber!" Depp texted Bettany, per the Daily Mail. "Let's drown her before we burn her!!! I will f**k her burnt corpse afterward to make sure she is dead," Depp added.

That's... pretty bad. On Amber Heard, Johnny Depp was also shown to have called his then-wife a "filthy w***e" in a 2015 text to her sister, and a "slippery w***e" in another from 2016.

The shocking reveals extend to one of Depp's earlier relationships, too. Amber Heard's lawyer produced an old email Depp sent to Elton John, in which Depp called his former partner Vanessa Paradis: "The French extortionist (ex-c**t)."

Also interesting:

In that email, Depp also accused Paradis of trying to "brain wash" their children against Amber Heard, before his relationship with her went downhill.

Depp and Vanessa Paradis were together until 2012 and share two children. The actor then had a tumultuous — and allegedly abusive — marriage to Amber Heard from 2015 to 2017.

The above text messages were read aloud in court, and Johnny Depp even commented on their disturbing nature. "I'll just say that I'm not proud of any of the language that I used in these," he told the court, per Us Weekly.
