Jonah Hill is an American actor, comedian, and director, twice nominated for an Oscar. He has starred in films such as Superbad, Moneyball, and The Wolf of Wall Street.
After graduating from high school in Los Angeles, his hometown, Hill went to the New School University in New York, where he studied theater and got some small roles. He made his big-screen debut after Dustin Hoffman accepted him when he auditioned for the film I Heart Huckabees, which was released in 2004. Hill began his career focusing solely on comedy films like Superbad, but then, in mid-2011, he took a turn towards drama and was even nominated for an Oscar for his performance alongside Brad Pitt in the film Moneyball.
Hill rarely talks about his private life. He lives in California, but often travels to promote his films, and has said in interviews that he would prefer to live in New York City, but feels he belongs in Los Angeles, where he has more opportunities for a career in acting and writing. Despite the opportunities he is seeking, he said Hollywood is not a perfect place for him because of the stress.
