Kevin Hart has had enough of mass online hatred.

On Tuesday, the actor and comedian came to the defense of Ellen DeGeneres — who he believes has been targeted with unjust spite while her talk show and its producers face allegations of racism, sexual misconduct, and a "toxic" workplace environment.

Kevin Hart's defense of Ellen DeGeneres

Hart, 41, shared the impassioned message to his Instagram page on Tuesday afternoon. In it, he calls on social media users to rethink their approach to "hate" and provides his perspective on DeGeneres's behaviour.

"It's crazy to see my friend go thru what she’s going thru publicly. I have known Ellen for years and I can honestly say that she’s one of the dopest people on the f---ing planet," Hart wrote.

"She has treated my family and my team with love and respect from day 1. The internet has become a crazy world of negativity....we are falling in love with peoples down fall. It's honestly sad...When did we get here?

"I stand by the ones that I know and that I love. Looking forward to the future where we get back to loving one another....this hate shit has to stop. Hopefully it goes out of style soon....This post is not meant to disregard the feelings of others and their experiences....It’s simply to show what my experiences have been with my friend. Love you for life Ellen..." Hart concluded.

The Ellen Show faces serious allegations amid investigation

Hart's defense of DeGeneres comes after other celebrities, including Brad Garrett and Lea Thompson, made comments against the TV host last week. Hart, a 14-time Ellen Show guest, also returns the favour to DeGeneres, who publicly defended him when he was under fire for his history of homophobia after being named host of the 2019 Oscars.

In the details released about the Ellen Show investigation up to this point, allegations have focused on executive producers of The Ellen Show and not the host herself. All the same, DeGeneres did take responsibility for the set's atmosphere in her apology to show staff last week.
