Kevin McKidd's Career

Young McKidd worked at a whisky distillery before he pursued his acting career. His talent was quickly recognized and Danny Boyle cast him as "Tommy Mackenzie" in the cult hit 1996 film Trainspotting

He went on to star in Gunpowder, Treason & PlotThe Virgin Queen, Hannibal Rising, and Anna Karenina. He then went on to star at charming "Dr. Owen Hunt" in Grey's Anatomy, a role that skyrocketed his popularity.

"Owen" served as a U.S. Army trauma surgeon and became head of trauma surgery at Seattle Grace Hospital. His character's storyline has been brought with turmoil but he is quick to do his best to keep spirits lifted. Kevin even directs many episodes!
