You probably remember "Abbie Carmichael", the woman who replaced "Jamie Ross" as "Jack McCoy's" assistant in the American police television drama Law & Order. The role was played by the actress and model Angie Harmon from 1998 to 2001, in a total of 72 episodes with four consecutive nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards in the category of Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series.

Born on August 10, 1972, Angie also gained international fame for her roles as "Jane Rizzoli" in Rizzoli & Islesand as "Ryan McBride" in Baywatch Nightswhere she shared credits with David Hasselhoff, who was actually the one who "discovered" her acting skills in 1995.

What happened to Law & Order's "Abbie Carmichael"?

In 2001 Angie Harmon left Law & Order explaining that she preferred working in film rather than in television, that's why "Abbie Carmichael" made her final appearance in the episode "Deep Vote" in the eleventh season of the show, where she accepts an offer to join the U.S. Attorney's office in New York.

After leaving the show, Angie Harmon acted in several movies like Agent Cody Banks, where she played the role of "Ronica Miles" in 2003; Fun With Dick & Jane, portraying "Veronica Cleeman" in 2005, and most recently in 2007 Seraphim Falls, where she portrayed "Rose".

However, since she left Law & Order she has also acted in numerous television shows such as the 2005 American medical drama series Inconceivable, the 2007 police drama Women's Murder Club, and most recently as a voice talent in the 2017 animated web television series Voltron: Legendary Defender.
